Call for Submissions – THE PERFECT DAY: A Dark Flash Anthology
Welcome back, dear writers, to the fourth official call for submissions from WATG Press.
For this new anthology, the title and theme will be The Perfect Day. By now, you know WATG Press well enough to understand that we are not looking for the perfect perfect day.
We are looking for the poisoned wedding cake, birthday parties of cursed kids, or rituals that work exactly as intended and go further than anyone dared hope. Sometimes, just perfect is perfect!
Think beyond the expected. We are drawn to original perspectives, disturbing endings, and the slow, tightening grip of psychological unease. We want the flawless plan, the fulfilled promise, the moment when nothing goes wrong—and that is precisely why it does.
If your story leaves us with goosebumps, you’ve done it right.
Genres: Horror, gothic, and dark fiction.
Word Count: Flash fiction under 1,000 words
Deadline: March 25, 2026, 23:59 MC (UTC -7)
Publication: April 2026, ebook and print
Payment: Non-paying market — contributors will receive a digital copy of the anthology.
